If I were you I might be asking “why in the world would I want to sign up for this person’s emails?!” I might wonder things like: “Who is Sarah? What are her credentials? What is she going to be sending me?”
Who is Sarah Littlefield?
I am a gal who was raised out in the country on a farm in rural West TN. I just so happened to move away, add a couple of degrees under my belt — a B.S. in Child & Family Studies as well as an MEd in Marriage&Family Therapy to be exact. I have a husband named Tom, who I have been married to for 13 yrs & counting. We have two children, a daughter named Emma who is 11, a son named Connon who is 8, and one wild, wacky dog named Camper! I am a wife and a mom, but I have also had a desire for as long as I can remember to help others. I am able to do just that through my private practice where I counsel women, mothers, children, teens, and families. You can find out more about why I love my job as a therapist and the ONE thing that also bugs me about it here.
What’s so special about being a therapist?
As I started my journey as a therapist more than 14 years ago, I began to notice how exciting it was to watch people’s lives change right before my very eyes. Week after week I would hear stories of moms, dads, kids, and families accomplishing little steps…. sometimes even moving three steps forward then two steps back to overcome obstacles, face fears, or get back on solid ground. No matter what the process looked like, change was occurring! As I witnessed these changes in others my desire to do more and help more grew and grew.
Currently, my practice as a profession to help others is somewhat limited because my life at the current moment does not allow for me to take on more clients. My first and most important commitment is to love and care for my husband, children, and home. As so many of us face this same dilemma, there is no room to spend more time adding on more clients to my schedule. This blog, this platform — this is how I believe I will be able to give my time to help others, to help people just like YOU! I do want to explore life with you. I SURE don’t have it all figured out! I stumble and, boy….. do I fall! My family could share a few stories or two on that front I am sure, but is by God’s Great Great & unconditional love that I can get back up, shake off the dust, and move forward. I want to journey with YOU and help YOU do that very same thing. I pray we can connect here so we can explore, learn, share, and do this thing called life together because it is tough and most of the time not very fair!
Why we need each other?
I do not and will not pretend to know all there is to know about a woman’s life (though I am one), a mom’s world (though I am a mom, too), children, teens, and families so as much as I desire to help, I NEED YOU! We need each other! I am, without doubt, a lover of information. You’ll soon figure that out about me. I especially love to learn about people. It is a love I have deep in my soul to connect with others. I love to research, study, and educate myself. I love to teach others too! My commitment to you is to supply you with resources, personal stories from my own crazy life experience as a wife, mom, therapist, and child of our One True King. Relationships are a two-way street and it’s important that I hear from you in order to allow us each to grow and learn in our knowledge as wives, moms, friends, sisters in spirit, and all the other roles we fill each and every day!
