So I debated about what I wanted to share with you this week in regard to what therapist really think, simply because I know that asking for help is a touchy subject for some. It is for that reason that I decided to narrow it down to three things I would want anyone thinking about therapy to know. But first you must know that one of the many reasons I went into this field (which I absolutely love) was that I wanted to help people, of course, but the other is to help remove the stigma of getting help.
So, I say that with hopes of removing what preconceived notions you might have about those of us in this field. I often hear that people think we are analyzing your thoughts, or thinking that something is “wrong” with you. I, of course, can only speak for sure for myself, but we / I do really have your best interest in mind. And most importantly….
